Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah, on 9th August 2022 confirmed that Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf leader, Shahbaz Gill, was arrested by the Islamabad police “in accordance with the law” on charges of sedition and inciting the public against the state institutions.

A video went viral on social media amid arrest of PTI key leader Shahbaz Gill claiming Gill was tortured brutally while in custody. A set of pictures and a video went viral showing bruises on Gill’s body.

In order to verify the claim, we performed a reverse image search. Reverse image search found a longer version of the same video, the person in the video is not Shahbaz Gill. In the video shared below, face is visible and it is evident that this person is not Shahbaz Gill. Social media users cropped the video and posted the part where his face was not visible to link it with Shahbaz Gill.
