A video went viral on social media claiming a teacher from Bhajang district, Nepal, is brutally beating a child. Social media users widely shared the video and demanded strict actions against the teacher.

Fact-check

In order to investigate the claim, we extracted keyframes from the shared video and performed a reverse image search on google search engine.

The reverse image search revealed the original video is from Patna, Bihar India.

According to reports, the incident took place in Jaya coaching institute when a teacher named Chhotu Chidakabadaru allegedly thrashed and assaulted the child until he lost consciousness. An FIR was lodged against the accused teacher by the parents of the child. Accused teacher was also beaten up by the public after the video went viral.
