Since January 2022, excessive rainfall and torrential monsoon flood has occurred in the South Asian countries including Afghanistan, Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. It has become the region’s deadliest floods since 2020. A video went viral on social media showing visuals of a flash flood in Melamchi, Nepal.
